My nephew ROCKS!

Okay - it's my turn to play "Proud Aunt Katye" and brag about how AWESOME my nephew Alec is! He just won a "Bump" (also known as "Knock Out") contest during half time of a basketball game during the Alaska Shoot Out tournament, in Anchorage. The prize was 4 round trip tickets on Alaska Airlines! This video is so exciting, and it totally reminded me of all the "Bump" contests I had played in growing up, and how much fun they were. Great job, Alec!!!! Check out his video (he is the 7th in line, wearing a white t-shirt - right in front of the tall kid with the light blue shorts):

LETTERMAN MOCKS MCCAIN CANCELLATION

From DrudgeReport.com:

EXCLUSIVE: LETTERMAN MOCKS MCCAIN CANCELLATION
Wed Sep 24 2008 17:41:58 ET

David Letterman tells audience that McCain called him today to tell him he had to rush back to DC to deal with the economy.

Then in the middle of the taping Dave got word that McCain was, in fact just down the street being interviewed by Katie Couric. Dave even cut over to the live video of the interview, and said, "Hey Senator, can I give you a ride home?"

Earlier in the show, Dave kept saying, "You don't suspend your campaign. This doesn't smell right. This isn't the way a tested hero behaves." And he joked: "I think someone's putting something in his metamucil."

"He can't run the campaign because the economy is cratering? Fine, put in your second string quarterback, Sara Palin. Where is she?"

"What are you going to do if you're elected and things get tough? Suspend being president? We've got a guy like that now!"

Sufjan Stevens is my drug of choice.

If you are not familiar with the musical genius of Sufjan Stevens, I suggest you listen --- really listen to his album titled "Come on feel the ILLINOISE". He has more albums available, which I plan on purchasing very soon.

If you were stuck on a deserted island, what 5 albums would you want to have with you?

We are up at Mammoth again this weekend, and this time we've got Timmy, Ally, Greg, Chad and myself. My favorite part of the evenings up here are the awesome conversations we get into. Tonight, we've started an in-depth conversation about which 5 music albums we would take with us if we were stuck on a deserted island. I'm documenting our answers on my blog so we don't forget:

HAPPY NEW YEAR, 2008!

Happy New Year, everyone! We took it easy last night, and rented movies instead of going out to the bars, etc. We were so exhausted from snowboarding, that we just didn't have the energy to go out into the crowds. It was a nice change, though. Today we head back to Redondo Beach, and I have to go to work tomorrow. This week, Chad and I have to take down all the Christmas decorations inside our house, the tree and the lights outside. This is usually the part of the holidays that I get bummed out about. It's always such a downer - taking all the pretty things down. This year, I'm not going to let myself get bummed out... what's the point? It's just wasted energy, right? Instead, I have decided to be excited to take everything down! Yeah! Whooo hoooo! Here is a nice picture of the view from Greg's house in Mammoth -- I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!
